Abifor significantly expands production capacity.
Abifor has experienced a substantial rise in demand for its thermoplastic adhesive solutions. To meet this growing demand and prevent potential bottlenecks, the company has significantly expanded its production capacity.
Over the past 12 months, new production systems have been installed in several stages. The first step was the implementation of a state-of-the-art cryogenic grinding system, capable of processing soft plastics at extremely low temperatures of minus 40 to minus 50 degrees Celsius.
A key milestone was the commissioning of an ambient grinding system, specifically designed for grinding hard plastics that do not require cooling. This new system replaces equipment that had been in use for over 40 years, while also enhancing production capacity.
A standout feature of this investment programme is the installation of an automatic bagging, palletising, and wrapping machine. For the first time in Abifor's history, ground plastic powders will be fully automatically bagged, palletised, and wrapped in film.
The investment programme was rounded off with the installation of new silos for the intermediate storage of ground products, along with conveyor systems to connect the various production stages.
Abifor intentionally selects medium-sized family-run businesses as suppliers. This decision is driven by several factors: firstly, Abifor values long-term, trustworthy business relationships. Secondly, the company emphasises good customer service and short lead times for spare parts. Lastly, Abifor, with its strong European presence, is committed to supporting local manufacturers.
Peter Hinder, Abifor's principal shareholder and CEO, comments: "With this investment programme, we are opening a new chapter in Abifor's history. We are pleased with the results and I extend my thanks to everyone involved for their outstanding support."
